About the Book

*** What´s being said and written about the story ***

"I love your book."
Suzanne Spletzer, Writer, Former President Southwest Writer´s Workshop. Executive Director Author´s Venue, LLC.

"Treasure of the Soul... is well written and moves smoothly from one location to another, from one sphere of action to the next. Descriptions of the southern New Mexico landscape are vivid and familiar. This book is a fine read for cool autumn afternoons."
Don Bullis, Books in Review, The Rio Rancho Observer, 10-25-02.

"Engaging. Real life-like conversations. Great characters. The story flowed very well."
Dr. A. J. Roberts, Ph.D. Ethnographer, National Park Service.

"It held my interest until the very end. The settings are well described and give depth to the places where the action occurs. I felt I knew the major characters through narrative and their conversations. … There is good suspense in the action scenes. Also suspense in the female angle. . . . Jake is a sympathetic hero. He is likeable and we can applaud his devotion to family and what he sees as his duty. His personal relationships are well thought out and detailed.
"I really liked Lonesome Joe. The descriptions of the visit and conversations with Dan are well done. I felt I could see the house, the place and the two men. The reading of the two letters from Lonesome Joe brought tears – they are poignant. ". . . I thought your approach to each character´s viewpoint gave necessary background in an informational and highly readable way."
Joan S. Palmer, Editor, paralegal, artist, screenwriter.

"Your work is a cut above. . . It´s wonderful, sophisticated, poetic, moving . . . Literary. I´m enjoying the heck out of it." " . . . his [Jake´s] investigative procedure is fascinating to read about." What a pleasure to read!"
Linda Salomone, Ph.D. Writer, Clinical Counselor.

"Much inspired writing." "It kept me all the way!"
Dick Gober, retired USMC/USA, author Cowboy Justice

"I really enjoyed this book. You have a great mystery novel here and I would hope to see more books by you. The book is one of my favorite types of plots, the murder tied to events in the past. You have a great way of plotting, and your plot stems from a sound cause and effect structure. I found the situation to be very believable and the character shows remarkable talent. I could definitely tell that the information on hunting down the killer came from experience. The details and information was very telling of the expertise." Judge, 2003 Writer´s Digest Self-Published Book Awards.

"A fantastic read!" "A reader from Hirakata-shi, Osaka, Japan, Wow! I couldn´t put it down. What a great yarn. You´ve got to read this one. The author obviously plumbs his extensive experience in law enforcement, and knows the New Mexico landscape like the back of his hand. You´ll love his true-to-life characters."
