About the Book

Visit pioneer Jackson Hole, Wyoming: go climbing in the rugged Teton Mountains; then sail the South Seas with stays in the primitive Marquesas Islands, and Tahiti: Experience all this with Wally Watson in his 1930’s reminiscences, High and Deep.

About the Author

Wally Watson was born in Indiana and spent his boyhood living there and in Washington, D.C. and Charleston, S.C. as well as spending much time on the coast of Maine. After graduating from college, he got a job as temporary ranger in the newly created Grand Teton National park which occupied eight years, after which he and his bride took a voyage in a 62-foot schooner with an amateur crew to the South Seas. On returning, he lived in Salt Lake City, then in newly created Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where he has worked as materials supervisor for the Atomic Energy Commission at the Y-12 plant facility and later, as psychology teacher until retirement. Currently he is 91 years old, in constant touch with his four children, his grand children and great grand children.
