The Santa Key

About the Book

This story originated on a Christmas when Ellen Kathleen O’Neill’s sons were very young and she began to tell them stories from her grandmother and mother’s life. Her children live in a house without a fireplace. How to explain a Christmas and Santa Claus without a chimney? Thus began the story of the Santa Key and how her grandmother told her mother about Santa coming to her apartment in New York City by using the magic key. The story answers the children’s question about how Santa would get into their home to deliver the presents.

Ellen is currently working on other stories from her memories of her grandmother and her life in New York City and growing up in Ireland.

Ellen O’Neill is a former teacher and a librarian on leave. She resides in East Norwich, N.Y. with her husband, Jim and her two sons, Jack and Kevin. J.R. McNally is a retired college professor, an author and illustrator. He lives in New York City
