Tiffany is a 7-year-old, outspoken and independent. Toy is a 7-year-old from Vietnam, shy and afraid of the "up-and-down-room." Mrs. Frost is a 77-year-old, cranky and unfriendly. She has never celebrated her birthday. Can these three become good friends?

About the Author

Author Bio Where do authors get their ideas? Everywhere! From events they remember. From events that happen today. From events they imagine when they ask, "But what if?" Vivian Thompson taught kindergarten--and two stories grew out of that. Their two Korean godsons had an adventure sleeping out in their yard--and she wrote Camp-in-the-Yard. She moved to Hawaii and studied its folklore--and retold its myths, legends, and tales in five books. Years later, she moved to a retirement community--and the people she met there gave her the idea for this book. Illustrator Bio For Tracy Shiraishi, who brought these characters to life, this is a first venture in the Children's Book Illustration field. Born in Kaneohe, Hawaii he graduated from Punahou School and went on to study animation at the college of the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Returning to Hawaii, he majored in Fine Art, taking every course offered at the University of Hawaii, Manoa Campus, and Windward Community College. He is currently close to graduation with a degree in painting. In addition to all-day, all-week classes, he directs the art program at the Boys' and Girls' Club of Hawaii.
