About the Book

This is the story of a successful young man who thought his life was turning out exactly as planned. Jeff was not an alcoholic. He wasn’t even a casual drinker. Then one fateful night, tragedy struck, shattering his dreams and forcing him to re-evaluate his whole life. Badly injured and unsure whether or not he would even live, he fought to regain control of his life. In time, with the support of a lot of people, he began to recover, but the carefree young man that he had once been was gone forever.

Depressed and wondering why he had been the one to survive in an accident that killed the most important person in the world to him, his life finally began to turn around when he met the heroine of the story, a dedicated young career woman who strives to help him put the pieces of his life back together. Over the ensuing months, their relationship goes through many changes, and together they help each other discover what is truly important in life.

About the Author

Carol McNiven was born and raised in Manitoba, Canada, where she still lives. She is recently widowed and has two daughters and one grandson. She began writing children’s stories after she retired. Her grandson, C.J., was her audience of one, and enjoyed listening to her read to him about the fantasy stories that she had created. His enthusiasm encouraged her to continue writing. She has had a few short stories published locally, but this is her first novel. In her spare time, she owns a petsitting company that she loves. She shares her home with her two cats, Cuddles and Kismet.
