About the Author

Samuel Kimm was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan and lived there until he was six years old. He then moved to Harbin City with his father and later they moved again to Tsitsihar town with his father´s business development. He traveled to many towns and cities: Changchun, Mutankiang, Shenyang, Talien, and Kirin. He also visited Juzno-Sakhalinsk, in Sakhalin Island. He returned to Korea in 1946 and lived in Tongduch´on until the Korean war. He moved to Sunch´on City and then to Yosu City in 1953. Samuel Kimm came to the United States and became a naturalized citizen in 1959, in time to experience the bitter Vietnamese War. He was educated at New York University where he earned a B.A. as well as an M.A., and at the University of Hawaii where he received a degree in Air-Conditioning Technology. He lives in Honolulu with his wife Catherine Kimm, and their son Edward and daughter Risabelle.
