About the Author

Susan Melior Downes As a little girl, the author enjoyed fun-filled hours with her own dollhouse much like the one in this book in make-believe playtime with her big imagination and many friends. That dollhouse inspired this story of compassion, sharing, kindness, friendship, and cooperation amongst forest animals with human qualities that brings holiday togetherness to themselves and the meaning of Christmas to the reader. The author and illustrator resides in Spokane, Washington. This book is dedicated to her six grandchildren: Keenan, Elie, Nick, Janie, Cassia, and Boaz.
