She glanced down at his dirty shoes, toured his unkempt appearance and his raggedy hands then finally noticed the scar. “Tell me something,” she asked, also cognizant of the fact that under all that mess he was extraordinarily handsome. “If everybody’s supposed to care so deeply about their loved ones all year, why are they too busy to go out and get a gift for them except for two minutes before six on Christmas Eve?” Not expecting much, her eyes challenged him for an answer. “Well, I don’t really know why,” he said. … “What I do know is that I’ve thought about her constantly for the last seven years. These are the only two minutes I have left.”

About the Author

A native of the Jersey shore now residing in Philadelphia, I have written numerous poems and short stories dealing with the darker sides fo love and obsession. This is my first novel.
