About the Author

Jean Hickox wrote these small stories for the monthly bulletin of Christ Episcopal Church in Westerly, Rhode Island where she is an ordained deacon. They grew out of her experiences as a child in the south and a wife, mother, grandmother in the north. Each one contains a small “seed of hope,” which –if properly tended—will help to create a cornerstone to rest on or a staff to lean on when the road of life we travel becomes rough and rocky.
