About the Book

About the Author

The three authors of this book, Becky Sharp, Margreta Gronski and Arlene Cole, hailed from the east coast of the United States and Canada, meeting along the watery byways during their first years of committing to the live-aboard lifestyle. For each, it was a learn-as-you-go experience that eventually led them to pooling their eclectic knowledge to help others make the transition easier and smoother. The combined years of sailing by the authors would range well over 100 years, and has given them the “authority” to compile and present to fellow sailing women some very practical suggestions in the hope of shortening the learning curve of the bell with this hint filled “manual.” Many books are written by and for the male cruisers, but there are only a few that address the “other” aspect of cruising, the mundane chores demanded in day to day living: meal preparations, grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, etc., so this book was compiled by women for women who have agreed to accompany their partners in this wonderful adventure. With the duel roles that women play in this unique life style, we hope this information will shorten their work load and give them more time for other pursuits.
