About the Book
The Adventures of a Born-Again Virgin is, primarily, written for fun. Although the premise of a widow in her fifties entering the dating world is autobiographical, the “adventures” are pure fiction based on the experiences of the author and her friends. There is also a parallel story about dating in the 1950s … the similarities and the differences. After being widowed, the author found love stories written only about and for young women … “goddesses with torn bodices.” Although women over fifty are also interested in romance, there are no heroines they can identify with. Adventures of a Born-Again Virgin corrects that problem. Read … enjoy … and remember.
About the Author
Barbara Irvine Kampe returned to writing after the deaths of her husband and, later, only son. She then went from writing as part of the grief process to writing for fun. She has been published in several magazines and now spends most of her time taking classes, watching grandchildren and writing. As a third generation Seattlelite, she lives in down town Seattle among the tall buildings, and happy ducks.
