About the Author

Marghuerita Turner was born in Cambridge, Mass. but has lived mostly on Staten Island, New York. Ms. Turner served in the A.A.F. as a reporter and has been a recipient of several grants from C.O.A.H.S.I. located on Staten Island. One of her grants was for teaching poetry and classical literature – she taught a fourth grade class on Staten Island. She has also won several gold medals for her writing from the Veteran’s Creative Arts Festival, which is held annually for all veterans. Her poems have also been published in anthologies and had several articles printed in newspapers. Ms. Turner reads her poetry at libraries, colleges and nursing homes. Her hobbies are crocheting, knitting and playing chords on her Yamaha guitar. At present, she still resides on Staten Island, New York.
