About the Author
Loren Fisher was born and raised in Albany, Oregon. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1944-46. After completing his formal education in 1959 at Brandeis University in Mediterranean Studies under the guidance of Cyrus H. Gordon,he continued his teaching career. He took early retirement in 1976 from his position as Professor of Hebrew Bible at The School of Theolgy at Claremont and as Professor of Semitic Languages and Literature at the Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, CA. Since 1976 he has been ranching, writing, and teaching. He now lives in Willits, CA and spends most of his time writing.
