In these contemporary times when our everyday experiences are fragmented--indeed fractured--by technology, TIME OUT OF MARRIAGE explores the possibility of the duration of marriage. The first-person narrator is split between his love for his wife, Elyse, a professor at New York University, and his love for Mayda, a young cellist with the Minnesota Orchestra. The novel tracks his indecisiveness between the two women that is not resolved until the very last pages.
