About the Author

Irene Rowe Harris is a native of Magnolia, Arkansas. She completed her elementary and secondary schooling in Magnolia, Arkansas, and received an undergraduate degree in elementary education at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, Arkansas. After teaching in both the elementary and secondary schools, she earned an M.A. degree in secondary education at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville, Arkansas. Following the M.A. degree, she continued to teach in the public schools. Later, she pursued a doctoral program at Oklahoma State University Stillwater, Oklahoma, where she earned a doctorate in 1985. Since that time, she has dedicated her contributions at colleges and universities in teacher education. Her concerns focus on a change in the curriculum and pedagogue of the new millennium that will recognize and respect the intelligences of human beings.
