About the Book

Rachel wanders aimlessly in a dark and deserted mall parking lot? She doesn't recognize where she is, or how she got there? She has absolutely no memory of her past.  Alone and frightened, she must put your trust in Evan, a man claiming to be your husband.  Although she senses Evan Darian, her husband, loves her, or did love her, she is still wary.  Her past begins to bleed into her present, confusing her and contradicting everything Evan has told her.  Psychiatrist, Dr. Madie Vargovic attempts to sort out Rachel’s conflicting memories, but the solutions only cause Rachel even more confusion.

After discovering Evan hasn't told her the whole truth, Rachel is reluctant to believe anything he says or does to convince her of his love.  Flashbacks become more frequent supporting her fear that Evan has been hiding something from her.  She knows he has lied to her since the day he found her in the mall parking lot, and each lie was designed to keep her from regaining her memory.  Finally Rachel remembers what caused her memory loss, and she confronts Evan begging him to explain why he didn't tell her the truth.  He answers slowly, tears trickling down his cheeks, and his eyes staring into hers. Softly Evan whispers, Because I Love You.
