About the Book

During the Cold War, the United States and Russia tried to create the superior race and become the dominant world power. In the late 1950’s, the United States government funded a project to increase the mental ability of infants while still in the womb; it was called the Einstein Factor Project. Elizabeth Frantz, a college student in her third trimester of pregnancy, becomes one of the participants in the project. She bears a son, Mark, whose IQ ranks in the high genius level.

Unhappy with the length of time for the results and the sudden focus on the space program, the government pulls the funds for the Einstein Project. Dr. Michaels, the creator of the Einstein Factor, deceives Elizabeth into participating a second time—only this time, the drug is introduced during the first trimester of pregnancy. Elizabeth gives birth to a daughter, Sara, who has an IQ higher than her brother but is also born a deaf-mute. With the experiment failing the second time, Dr. Michaels does not report his findings to the government and government agents who are rounding up the children from the original experiment and confining them to a secret compound run by the Department of Defense overlook Sara.

Now, twenty years later, Sara has become a successful businesswoman in the computer industry and is living in Los Angeles. Wanting a quieter life-style, Sara semi-retires and buys a stable in a small town where she works and spends most of her time. Her quiet lifestyle is suddenly shattered with the death of Dr. Michaels. His old personal records are turned over to the Department of Defense and Sara’s birth is discovered. Not only is Sara’s birth discovered, but also she’s linked to a research project that the Department of Defense wants for their latest weapon, a weapon that is being developed by her brother. Now, they want her, too. Using her brother as bait, two agents are sent to secure Sara and bring her back to the facility. Sara, however, has her own plans to escape capture, free her brother and destroy the facility.
