About the Book

Any world, anytime, anywhere there are those who rise to the occasion and attempt to right the wrongs of the rigid and inflexible. This is the story of Doctor Anna James who, by chance becomes the key figure in a course of action that will cause  planet-wide destruction. Her actions affect the entire indigenous culture of the planet Karras.

For five years, Anna lived a content, if not idyllic life on Karras. She befriended Mislan, the leader of the native population. His main duty is to direct the weaving of a tapestry that records the history of his people. She considers the Firewalkers more than friends - they have become her family.

Her life is turned upside down when a new military commander with a company of armed soldiers arrive on the planet. The new commander does his best to disrupt the lives and the religion of the native Karrasians. Meanwhile, the whole planet erupts into flames, threatening to destroy everything and everyone.

One of the soldiers in the command comes close to destroying the whole population of Karras. The answer to the planet’s imminent death is somehow woven in the Firewalker tapestry and the life cycle of the giant moths that inhabit the planet Karras.

About the Author

Ev has spent a great deal of his life involved with sailing and the sea. He has made a single-handed circumnavigation. He has taught Navigation and other cruising subjects in Colleges and private schools. He has worked as a yacht skipper and harbormaster. He currently represents an international marine manufacturer, in technical customer related problem solving. He has written a cruising guide, a celestial navigation primer and two science fiction novels as well as ‘Pacific High’. Ev lives with two very spoiled Maine Coon cats and his wife in Florida.
