Basic Bible Truths - Theology for Beginners

About the Book

It is not only important but also necessary for Christians to understand the basic truths as revealed in the Bible.  Ten of the most vital of these truths are investigated briefly and in simple language directed toward those with strong desires to learn but little time to devote to the acquiring the knowledge.

Chapter One deals with the authenticity, validity and the value of the Bible.  Evidence supporting the authority of the Scriptures from history, from other literature, from the changed lives and from the internal proof the Bible itself contains.

Chapter Two relates attributes and character of God the Father.  It covers His involvement in and His attitude toward His creation.

Chapter Three is directed toward the work of Jesus Christ, including His part in creation, His human deity and His divine humanity are in view as we look at the Christians’ present and future hope in Him.

Chapter Four concentrates on the Holy Spirit, showing His activity in creation, the earthly ministry of Jesus and in the believers.

Chapter Five shows the entrance, the consequences, and the remedy for sin.  This discussion gives full details on the effect of sin on man and the penalties that must be paid for, either by the offender or by our great Redeemer.

Chapter Six shares information about the creation, fall and redemption of man in Christ Jesus.

Chapter Seven lists all the elements of salvation, including justification, sanctification, redemption and adoption.

Chapter Eight centers on the purpose and power of prayer.

Chapter Nine discuses the origin, the ordinances, the officers and the function of the church.

Chapter Ten, last but not least, delves into the Bible teachings on last things.

About the Author

Archie L. Bagley, Jr. was born on March 21, l934. He was born again into the family of God on April 1, l963 and on May 26th of that same year preached his first sermon. He later received his Master , Doctor of Theology (cum laude) and Doctor of Psychology in Religion degrees from Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, Georgia. He is serving currently as a professor at the Rome (Georgia) Area Extension of Covington Theological Seminary
