About the Book

Claire Warren is very proud of her talented husband, Charlie.  They have a happy, active life together.  When Charlie is semi-retired, they visit Washington, D.C. and Claire falls in love with the vibrant city.

A major tragedy befalls The White House.  Soon afterwards Claire moves to Washington and gets a job at The  White House.  While working there she befriends the President's lonely Irish Setter puppy, Shamrock .

It is her friendship with the dog that leads the President to notice her.  Their relationship grows into a strong friendship with Shamrock serving as Claire's sounding board.  Claire often travels with the President and her mature, practical outlook aids him in resolving some situations around the globe and at home.

President Steve Gleason grows more dependent on Claire Warren especially when she helps him with a stressful family matter. Her experience and viewpoint influences his action on a major piece of legislation.

 The relationship between Steve and Claire takes many twists and turns over time among the trappings and business of The White House. Shamrock stays right in step with the two of them.

About the Author

In mid-life Celia Morris developed a strong interest in politics and politicians. While in Washington, D.C., she toured The White House many times including the Oval Office and the beautifully landscaped grounds. During one visit she saw the current White House canine resident romping on the South Lawn and became intrigued by the fact that a real family lived among the trappings and business of The White House.
