About the Book

An innocent romance blooms against the overly sophisticated background of a luxury hotel on Park Avenue in New York as we see its  manager, security man and others awaiting the arrival of El-Din, a young official of the Egyptian government who is coming to arrange contracts to lay an oil pipeline in the middle east. In Dallas, Las Vegas and London are others who are coming to influence the deal.

Hank King, an overaged football hero with the mind of a brilliant entrepreneur arrives in New York with Cindy, a Dallas Wildcats cheerleader who has  a fabulous body and a fast-moving brain. Sinister characters from Las Vegas arrive. Various other guests including courtesans, a black basketball star, gamblers, and gangsters haunt the hotel, which is characterized by vignettes of such employees as the boy who parks cars, the bartender, the headwaiter.

And then Cindy meets El-Din.
