About the Book

The purpose of this book is to describe the amazing and inspiring life of Saint Moses, one of the early desert fathers.  He was raised by his mother and grandfather as his father was taken as a slave by the Romans when he was newly born.  He himself was sold into slavery by his uncle when he was about twelve years old.  During his time as a slave he learned Latin.  Once he escaped he wanted to be a scribe but could not find employment.  He met a man in the same situation who convinced him that the only way to survive was to rob.  This he did; sought after by the Roman police, how he eluded them and became a Saint makes for an interesting story.
