About the Book

Roshanara was born in India, to a British father and an Indian mother.  Her father was often absent from her home, but he remained the most cherished member of their family.

She travels to Cambridge to meet her father’s family and uncovers her father’s painful secrets.

A married man becomes an important part of Rose’s life, but more important are the secret plans that she and her father make.  

With encouragement from an aunt, Rose moves to the United States. Life looks bright when she marries her childhood sweetheart, but she soon discovers the heartache that can be a part of joining two families.

Betrayed by a family member, Rose is estranged from her only child.  She settles into a mundane existence and contemplates her life, which has been dedicated to hiding an incestuous childhood.  A much younger man offers opportunity for a new and different future.
