About the Author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Pip was born in Oneida, New York on August 13th, 1949. He attended Lake Shore Elementary School , Blanche Ely High School, Bowie State College, Howard University, the University of Florida, the University of Miami, and the University of North Carolina. Most of his earlier life was spent following the vegetable and fruit seasons as all migrants on the east coast did. During his stay at Howard University, he developed a love for philosophy. However, the type of authors he sought grew darker and fatalistic as the war in Vietnam grew with each passing day. One worry of his was that his oldest brother was in Vietnam. Turning to poetry was a way or an outlet to vent some emotions that could not be released otherwise. The poetry, essays, and the play speak deeply about the social issues during the Vietnam War.
