About the Book
Doomed colt fortuitously finds a home with a country boy desperately in need of a horse. The boy and the colt become “best friends.” Under the boy’s tutelage the colt becomes the horse he desires to be. In turn the matured horse brings the boy into manhood, only to spend nearly five lonely years of boredom while the young man is away at war. Upon his return, nothing can ever be the same. Life isn’t always fair. Perhaps it is well for the horse to tell us what is fair … from his point of view.
About the Author
Bob Turner grew up on a very small farm nestled at the foot of the Santa Susana Mountains in California during the Great Depression. Not unlike most people of that austere time, his parents had but the bare necessities for existence. Unlike most of his peers, Bob preferred horses and their leather equipment to the steadily increasing mechanical age. World War II brought about many changes. His early life and military experience did much to influence his metamorphosis into the modern world and inspired a book, A Short Horse Is Soon Curried, A Journey Through Life (Xlibris Corporation).
