About the Book
Laura Burton and Eric Tyler were too young to be aware of the event, but they fell in love at their first meeting in the shadow of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Laura was seven years old at the time and Eric was nine. The summers of their growing years were spent together exploring the many wonders of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The realization of their deep and abiding love struck them both as they experienced their first kiss when they were in high school. They made all sorts of plans for their future together, including their wedding at the base of the lighthouse with the only music the constant murmur of the sea.
An unexpected twist of fate shattered their dreams and sent them in completely different directions. They both learned to make the best of their situations, Laura becoming fiercely independent, while Eric established himself as a successful business man. Their paths would cross again many years later and this is their story.
