Imperator Caesar Gaius Aurelius Valerius Diocletianus Pius Felix Invictus Augustus Pontifex Maximus Pater Patriae Proconsul Jovius. Known to us as Diocletian. He was born a slave and died a God. He was the enemey of The Church, yet he would transform it into an image of himself. He cut the Empire into two halves, the effects of which still haunt the world today. He murdered his way to the throne. Who was he? Was he a monster or was he just a soldier at heart? Did madness drive him or was it his memories of a hard life that drove his designs? Was it fate? Was it duty? Was it ambition? Or was it madness?
