About the Book
David Kiefer is a semi-retired Maintenance Engineer with a desire to be innovative. He grew up in a farming community in Northern Ohio. His interests began with farm machinery, which led to a career in technology. The desire to be innovative with a technology education led him to conceive the idea of “Dimensional Weight”.
This idea of “Dimensional Weight” was formulated in his life but needed a user of the process. A job with a major innovative package handling company led to the implementation of the process for that company, where he coined the process “ Dimensional Weight”
About the Author
This book is a reproduction of the manuscript given to the NIST “Shipping Industry: Solid Volume Measuring Devices Working Group Forming”. David Keiffer’s offer to be a consultant was done pro bono from his home. The major contribution that David made was to innovation of the process and the manuscript that is now this book, “Introduction to Dimensional Weight and Quality Dimensions”. David was kept in the loop of the committee’s reports so he could comment on any part of the development process.
