About the Book
This historical romance was set in Virginia, Boston and Ireland, during and after the Civil War when Dr. and Mrs. Clarke lived in their antebellum farmhouse with their daughter and son. Arabella the heroine, was a spirited young individual who became involved with southern and northern military physicians. There was drama when the illustrious General Lee stayed at their antebellum house during serious illness. This event was highlighted by visits from President Davis and General Beauregard. Arabella and her mother traveled to Boston and later her father brought her to visit his Irish relatives in Dublin. The saga of romantic relationships was resolved finally back in Virginia after the war
About the Author
Grew up in Ireland. Educated in Dublin, and Richmond, Virginia. Degree in chemistry. Worked as a medical research technician in Boston, St. Louis and Richmond. Collaborated in publications. Always interested in creative writing. Published in Ireland, memories of school days. Historical articles published in local magazine. Prizewinner in creative writing contest at local university. Poem published in International Library of Poetry. Other interests: landscape painting. Enjoys country and urban living and gardening. Lives in the historic Fan District of Richmond after twenty years in an antebellum century farmhouse. Married to a physician. One son, one daughter and two grandsons.
