About the Book

Mother nature made it comparatively easy to take away her gold and silver while raising havoc with men removing the lowly, dirty dusty coal where Sally lived as a child. She was haunted with memories of life in the coal towns of south central Colorado and stories of her great grand-parents hobnobbing with robber barons, furs, jewels, servant’s and race horses. Mine disasters and pioneer life in the coal camps. How did her great uncle die and where did the fortune go and why did her great grand-parents leave a life of luxury in Virginia to live in Colorado?

About the Author

It’s ironic that most of Thea’s favorite subjects as an artist were of gold and silver mines and mills. When she lost her fine vision and felt her dream life had ended memories of conversations overheard when she was a child flooded her mind. God never closes one door that He doesn’t open another. The pictures she creates now are written on a computer. Thea shares a home in Broomfield, Colorado with her ex-husband, Deahn, who unscrambled her floppy discs to weave fact and fiction through 150 years of intriguing life in the coal fields of Pennsylvania, Virginia and Colorado.
