About the Book

Green Island is about an island somewhere in the past, yet in the present. It looks at the strange behaviour of the inhabitants, their customs and traditions in a peculiarly island style. Green Island does not necessarily mean young, but maybe refers to the fact that the people are ‘green’ in their ideas, and need to grow up. Get an update on the culture of an island with a seemingly modern, yet archaic form of government, which gives out largesse to its supporters. The book takes a dig at the customs and culture in a sarcastic way. You have to know Green Island to fully appreciate what is happening. Perhaps, if you do some research, you may come up with some conclusions on your own. My intention here is not to give away too much, but let you read and enjoy Green Island. Have fun!

About the Author

I was born in a rural village in a remote island, so that is why I know so much about Green Island. I attended St David’s Primary School for one year, then transferred to Pine Primary School. I passed the Secondary School Exam for Combermere School, which we familiarly call the University College of Waterford. On graduation, I taught for three years at a Secondary School, then entered the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados, where I completed a Degree in Foreign Languages. I returned to the teaching profession, then joined another government department in 1992 when I got frustrated with teaching. It was in this new job that I decided to begin a career of writing, I have published one title relationships: Sex, Lies and the Truth in October 2006. Many more titles are on the draft board soon to be published. I like writing a lot as it gives me the opportunity to voice my opinion and give advice. My favourite subject is the world of relationship, but I have already written on other subjects. You will find poetry interspersed in my work for it is my love, a way of expression unlike others.
