About the Book

It is a longitudinal study that lasted seven years involving outreach and links to Spanish folks wherever they may be found – in Spanish stores, American stores, walks of life, on the streets and events that unfolded on Spanish T.V stations. The methodology also involved dialoguing with all and sundry – educated and non educated people of Spanish extractions infused with the application of inductive and deductive reasoning along the lines of each effectuated communication. As I write, the American population is evolving as never before as evidenced by the changes and shifts in populations(2000Census). The American society has seen significant population changes in several states ,such as New York, California, South Carolina, North Carolina. New Mexico, Texas, Massachusetts and Miami to mention only but these. It is calculated and foreseen that the emerging population changes in some of these cited states will be tremendous in the years to come(Census, 2000). While Spanish language is not officially a second language in the country, subliminally, it has assumed such role. For example, hardly is any company memo, memorandum or announcements written only in English these days. In addition, marketing and manufacturing companies are commingling English and Spanish in their business announcements in their rapprochement with their customers. Mastery of the book will go a long way in helping readers to effi ciently engage in links building and outreach to an important sector of the population. The same is true of Spanish speaking folks vis a vis the learning and speaking of English language. Despite the prevalence of Spanish language, English language still retains its supreme importance as the language of commerce in the U.S.A and the world. The importance of learning and speaking English and Spanish at the same time cannot be overstressed - a big step in ameliorating language inspired racism and facilitating communication between the two races.
