A Greek tragedy that unfolds on a Sicilian background, FAMILY AFFAIR tells of Police Inspector, Bruno Moncada, in charge of a special anti-Mafia section and his number one operating officer, Superintendent Vito Moncada, his own father - a first-rate investigator but also secretly a double dealer. When Bruno suspects this horrible reality, he goes on an investigation, and uncovers a vital secret that rocks the very foundations of the mafia. The bosses decide to eliminate him, but the Inspector is not an easy target. Thus, the Cosa Nostra orders Superintendent Vito to do the job for them – to kill his own son. Will Vito carry out this sinister mission of death? Is there no way to untie this fatal knot?

About the Author
Lucio de Caro was born in 1922 at Pescara on the Adriatic coast of central Italy. He has worked as a reporter, special correspondent and editor of three Italian newspapers (in Genoa, Livorno and Rome), as well as serving as the political commentator for the Milan “Il Giorno”. He also had a parallel career in celluloid, as a story-editor and script-writer of many feature films and films for television. They say that every journalist has a novel up his sleeve: this is his. As a reporter he reflected the hard facts of life; as a film-writer he projected the rhythm and dialogue of invented characters. At 84 he’s still not sure what he’s going to do when he grows up.
