About the Book

Harry Owens is a down-to-earth, retired maintenance chief who has worked hard all his life, has a good marriage, a successful son , but he is afflicted with diabetes and the accompanying eye problems suffered by most diabetics. Eye surgery is common to Harry. He has had a cornea transplant, both cataracts removed and many procedures for swelling in the macula.

It was during one of these procedures that a stray neutrino, ever present among us , a microscopic atomic fragment floating in our aura, attaches itself to the needle entering Harry’s left eye and becomes lodged against the back of his optic nerve where it begins to energize pulsate, and expend its power through Harry’s Iris. Scientists are clueless as to the properties or capabilities of these mysterious particles other than they fragment off atomic ions, have energy, and most importantly, mass. In Harry’s case, the neutrino enables him to se through paper as thick as a business card, a credit card, or a card from a deck used in gambling. Is it a gift, or a curse?

Harry Owen will always be a mild-mannered gentleman, a good husband, father and grandfather, but his new talent will take him to casinos all over the country to the dismay of security personnel who are baffles by the “how” of Harry’s steady wins.

Owens will tell no one of his lucky left eye, not his family, the MIT physics professor whos suspects, nor the casino security troubleshooter who dogs Harry from Atlantic City to Las Vegas. He carries his burden alone, inside where it gestates and festers. The need to tell is always there. Wracked with guilt, he continues to play on, nut then, there are the disturbing inner visions.
