About the Book

This book is about a teenage girl named Olivia and how she copes with sickness and death. Not only was her father suddenly taken from her when he suffered a heart attack, but also she now has to cope with her mom, who is slowly being taken from her due to Alzheimer’s disease. How people deal with illness and death is so different. Olivia always dreams about people—including her own parents—whose lives have been too short, and how she would have liked to have seen them lived. This story is a dream Olivia has about Diana, a princess who many feel has been taken away too soon. When Olivia visits her mom, she loves to tell her about these dreams, and her mom loves to hear them. As a daughter, Olivia knows how much it hurts to lose a parent too soon and just dreams about how nice it would be if there was a happy ending for these wonderful people who have touched so many lives in so many good ways.

If . . . Diana Didn’t Die is Olivia’s first published book. She is married to a wonderful man, and they have four wonderful children and a golden retriever. After growing up on Long Island, New York, they all now reside in Pennsylvania.
