About the author Lynnie grew up in the San Joaquin Valley of California, in a small farming town called San Joaquin. She was the oldest of four girls. At the age of 17, she entered the United States Navy. She was a Hospital Corpsman for over 11 years. She is married, with four children, to a very supportive man. She no longer lives in California, but the memories of California she carries with her, always. She graduated from Ohio University and strongly believes that the only way out of suppression is with an education. An education is something that no one can ever take away. An education is the only thing in this world that is truly not prejudiced.
