This autobiography stands out considering the protagonist begins his story in Northern France, then heads out to the USA (Wisconsin); later travels to Western Europe (Belgium, Luxembourg, Andorra, Spain); also goes to Iceland and to Tahiti. He never set foot in a high school but through a white lie, sneaks into college. He is then discovered, but also offered the opportunity to take an entry exam -- which he passes. He continues to take night courses and accumulates enough credits to graduate from the Milwaukee Area Technical College with a GPA of 3.65 (May 6 1981.) He had began is career in Milwaukee (with $27.00 in his pocket.) He took a job with the Wisconsin Gas Co, as a laborer (his English was very limited.) He stayed with that company for the next 39 years. He retired in 1988 with the title of Assistant Superintendent and 117 employees under his command.
