About the Book

This two part, self-help handbook describes in living color what it is like to live with post traumatic stress disorder. Although the accounts are given from a war veteran’s perspective, the survivor of a severe trauma such as attempted murder, rape, or serious auto accident would have relativity to this book. The second part, co-authored by the victim’s wife, conveys a detailed analysis of what life is like living with someone who has PTSD. The symptoms of this incurable disease are discussed including triggers, depression, anger, nightmares, and flashbacks. Also cited, are examples of how these symptoms impact one’s daily life. Several excellent books have been written on PTSD from a clinical point of view. This book’s perspective on the disease is given by two people living with it on a twenty-four, seven basis. The book offers the reader signs to look for as to whether they or a loved one has PTSD. Additionally, outlets of where to go for help are discussed.
