About the Book

Carson is a little boy who loves to dance. He also loves his dog, Spot, and ice cream. But he doesn’t love school. The other kids are mean to him. One day after school, Carson is sitting in the woods, crying, when a very unusual bird speaks to him. He asks Carson what’s wrong and, after Carson gets over the shock of a talking bird, Carson tells him that no one at school likes him. The colorful and talkative bird explains to Carson that if Carson is sad and angry, he will attract sad and angry people to him. He then explains to Carson how to “get his happy back” and how to attract friends. Carson gives it a try and is very happy to find out how well it works. He even ends up teaching the other kids how to do the happy dance.
