About the Book
Julian Gray is passionate about politics, science, and starting a family, but he’s captured by the memory of a distant affair, and the image of that woman haunts him. When he discovers he lost her to a close friend, the betrayal drives him to murder. Julian is caught in an emotional trap parallel to the surety of the religious fanatics he decries, and he is as surprised as the reader by the depth to which he descends. This intimate psychological drama explores the collision of faith and logic, and the terrible power of obsession.
About the Author
Like many writers, Laurence Howard has failed at a wide range of endeavors, including systems designer, strategic planner, economics professor, math teacher, carpenter, head of his own consulting firm, musician, and husband. “I wasn’t any good as a cab driver either.” Publishing his first novel at fifty-two, he said, “It’s never too late to change your life. If I’m going to fail at something, it might as well be something I love.” Madness is his fourth published novel.
