Different, But Yet Alike

About the Book

The poems were written from the heart; they sum up the difficulties I faced in life. My difficulties are similar to those of others. Some people may have faced these types of troubles that held them in a bind and didn’t have anyone to help them through the pain. The point of my writing these poems was to help me out of the bind and to show others how to deal with these situations to help them through life and build a strong personality to help lead them through a terrible phase to a new overcome.

About the Author

I, Bianca McKinnon, am the daughter of Vickie McKinnon and Ted Washington and the granddaughter of Carrie Lee McKinnon. I was born in Greenwood, Mississippi at Greenwood Leflore Hospital on June 1, 1990. I attend Amanda Elzy High School, and I am a senior. I plan to go to college and major in forensic science to become a detective. Since I have been in school, I have been active with the Beta Club, Skills USA, FBLA, the softball team, and the basketball team. Ten years from now I plan to be a professional writer who writes about what goes on in life; my goal is to help others get through difficult situations they have or will soon face in life.
