About the Book

SANDSTORMS & SUNSETS: You Were Always There Life expressed through poetry is what Sandstorms & Sunsets: You were always there,is about. Embark on a journey of feelings and emotions that only RA Monday can put into words. Join her as she recalls her first real home, the pains of youth, friendships that transcend all space and time, a horrific car accident where God´s miracles were clearly at work, the heartbreak of losing loved ones, discovering her true heritage, dealing with her own mortality and the unwavering faith that has seen her through the worst and best of times to the effects of modern day events. Read about the agony of Hurricane Katrina and its effects on the "human factor" in the poem, When Katrina Called. RA was one of many medical volunteers who aided in assisting the inhabitants from Louisiana. With a son just returning from a tour of duty in Iraq, read her tribute to our soldiers in the poem, Warrior, Soldier, Son, and more ... and the fateful day of, When the Eagle Cried:9-11. Sandstorms and Sunsets: You were always there, reminds us that no matter how bad things get, we are never alone or forgotten. God Creator is always with us. We never walk alone.

About the Author

Raised in the desert southwest, RA’s roots run deep with Hispanic traditions and folklore. With a grandfather who was a full-blood, RA is also Native American, a Lipan from the Great Apache Nation. RA encourages you to check out their website at: www.lipanapachetribe.com and learn the history and survival of these extraordinary Texas people who were thought to be "extinct." RA is just one of many whose mere presence proves that the Lipan Apache people are still very much with us and among us to this day. RA began documenting life’s happenings at a very young age. It was through poetry that she found a way to make even the worst of things sound romantic and the best of things sound lovingly humorous. RA received international recognition in Europe in 2003 with publication of her poem titled, "The Eyes of a Poet" by Noble House Publishers. While her writing career began with poetry, RA has published two other books, a fictional novel and a children’s fairy tale under a different pen name. She is a member of several poetry societies nationwide along with the Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). Her love for the southwest coupled with a rich heritage, are often depicted in her canvas paintings which she enjoys doing in her spare time. Through it all RA never forgets to acknowledge the one who gave her the gifts and passion for writing, God Creator. She currently enjoys life in the country and photographing God’s wonderful palette of colors.
