About the Book
Ruth was neither a heroine nor a famous person but like so many individuals in the story of mankind, as she was buffeted by the winds of unfolding history, the makings of a rather special story emerged. She was just one of thousands of average people caught up in a war of global scale, her early comfortable life was torn asunder and replaced by years of loss, deprivation, hardship, loneliness, and grief, and all seemed to be beyond her control.
About the Author
The author, Susanne Keller, is the daughter-in-law of her subject, Ruth. She had long been impressed by the family stories which her husband, Hans-Peter, had told her. However, it wasn’t until their son and wife, Christopher and Julia Keller, named their daughter Greta Ruth, who then began to ask questions about the Ruth for whom she was named, that the author decided to write the Story of Ruth. This is the author’s first attempt at book length writing although she has always been fond of putting pen to paper.
