About the Book
Stop in the Name of Love is about behavioral interventions where everyone involved walks away with dignity. It was written for educators, counselors, law enforcement, therapists, coaches, mentors, bosses, and parents. The belief that behavioral interventions are most effective when the kid is embarrassed or humiliated, made to feel stupid, or simply overpowered, is false. True, children need to be accountable for their actions, enabling serves no one. Children also need to be loved at home, in the classroom, on the playing field, in treatment, at work and even when locked up. After all, what we do makes a difference.
About the Author
“I wrote Stop in the Name of Love as a way of sharing the that “gems” accumulated over the years from working with kids, families and schools. Some things are just too important to not share. With respect to academia, that is not where I learned the good stuff. It was taught to me by the kids striving to overcome staggering obstacles, parents refusing to give up hope and educators teaching in the midst of storms. I have given each a voice that can be heard, understood and embraced. They have much to teach us.” Noel R. Love
