About the Book

American history is a record of great acts of valor, heroism and sacrifice. When times of enormous challenge have come, young men have responded with undying courage to defend their heritage. Many thousands of these young men were considered immature and had no say in the affairs of the United States government. But, when wars came, and military strength and manpower and fighting forces were needed, these un-voting, immature, problem-age, young men were the ones upon whom our nation called. Young men never started a war, but they responded with bravery and fought and died and won victories. They had hopes and dreams and desires and needs and loves and ambitions. This is a story of one such young man and his friends, his family and the girl he loves. The time setting is 19412 and 1942.

About the Author

Thomas Edwin Pritchard was the epitome of a renaissance man. Born to a humble, God fearing Texas farm family, he learned to take care of every aspect of his life from repairing things, to building things. He was an artist, a writer, a carpenter, a musician, an ordained minister, a husband and father. He was well loved by all that knew him, and his sense of humor made him a joy to be around. His varied interests and abilities gave him the formidable knowledge from which his writings came. Thomas Pritchard was a true gentle man and I am proud to follow his path, but could never fill his shoes.
