About the Book

About the Author

Bishop Richmond L. Goodwin Richard Lee Goodwin was born on November 19, 1949 to the late Nat and Lydia Goodwin. Bishop Goodwin was educated in the New York public school system. The Lord has always had his hands on his life; he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in Jesus’ name. Bishop Goodwin received his call to the Ministry; He was ordained on August 22, 1977, under the leadership of Bishop William Bonner. Bishop Goodwin walks by faith and not by sight. He stands on the scripture; Now faith is substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen, Hebrews 11:1. Bishop Goodwin realized that he should not be alone, but needed a helpmate. The Lord blessed him with a virtuous woman, Phyllis Goodwin and they became one flesh on November 18, 1980. Under the leadership of Bishop William Bonner, where he worked, the Lord spoke to Bishop Goodwin and told him to start his ministry. He has now formed The Apostolic Church of Deliverance located in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Bishop Goodwin’s vision is to continue the work of Kingdom Building and adding souls to the church. “God has given us an assignment to witness, says Bishop Goodwin.” In addition to his role as a Pastor, Bishop Fred Saunders ordained him as a Bishop on July 23, 1998. Bishop Goodwin has served the community in a wide-ranging number of capacities. He and his wife, Phyllis own and operate three-day care centers; located in Irvington, Newark, and Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Their ministry has enriched so many children and their families. Bishop Goodwin’s faith conviction has evidenced itself influentially in the State Assembly Campaigns of the Honorable Craig A. Stanley. He and his wife, Phyllis are the proud parents of five children; Charles Reginald, Andre, Gail, Vera, and Eva; and the proud grandparents of four grandchildren Ayannah, Accaisha, Yonnelle, and William.
