About the Author

Author Biography Julie was born in Norfolk, Virginia, raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Julie spent most of her summers in the mountains of North Carolina and the Eastern Tennessee. Her most treasured moments are with her cousins in Clinton, Tennessee. The closest of a blood brother/sisters that she has. Julie was educated at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, which is in the Southwestern part of Virginia. She formed lifelong brother and sistah relationships while attending Oak Hill. Julie lived in the mountains after graduating from Oak Hill Academy at Ferrum while attending Ferrum Junior College. She met some unbelievable artists and characters to boot! After a brief stay in Virginia Beach, she moved back to the mountains in Blacksburg, Virginia. While there, she became not a student but a local. Julie is still in contact with her mountain family that still reside in the surrounding areas. After living in the mountains of Virginia for almost four to five years, Julie remet Joe during an “I'm going to go to the beach” tour; they have been together since mid-1980s. Julie attended Virginia Wesleyan College where she graduated. Corey, their son, came into their life in 1984. He is a blessing to them as well as all those that he meets. Julie still resides in Virginia Beach; however, she visits family and her brothers and sistahs in the mountains of Virginia and Tennessee every chance she gets. She enjoys going to her secret spot in the mountains of Newport, Virginia. Julie travels whenever she gets the chance, especially when she gets to travel to see her brothers and her sistahs!
