About the Book
A Millennium Christmas is the setting for mass murder, drawing two federal agents down a path of mystery and unforeseen danger. Two factions vie for control of the election process. One, a crime syndicate, responds with intimidation and murder. The other, a political consortium, promotes vulnerable voting machines and uses foreign enforcers to ensure secrecy and anonymity. Our agents, once teacher and student, frustrated and lonely, find solace and excitement in each other’s company. Trusting a duplicitous uncle, the tenacious duo, stumbles upon an attempted cover-up, become targets of antagonists. Unforeseen occurrences remove them from bureau involvement and fraternization threatens career possibilities. Thrust into isolation and danger, our protagonists grow close to each other and more determined to resolve their predicament. An unexpected health crisis breeds distrust among criminal factions and precipitates desperate remedies. Subsequent revelations resolve the puzzling case and set our couple on a new path.
About the Author
Immersed in New England traditions and history, educated in business and philosophy, Jon Wile brings us back to New England in scenes that develop familiar places and characters. An early stint in mission work, followed by an extensive business career, changed his emphasis from business publications to more challenging literary pursuits. Now a full-time author, his work gravitates to adventure and romance. The Ornament takes place at Christmas, a transition time in the author’s life. He wishes to share imaginative twists and turns with his readers and nourish the romantic developments that bring the reader close to the personal lives of his characters.
