About the Author

William A. “Bill” Lansing is the retired President and CEO of Menasha Forest Products Corporation headquartered in North Bend, Oregon. He and his wife Ann have made their home in North Bend since 1969, raising two sons in the area. Bill grew up in the country near the small town of Colfax, California. He received his formal education from Sierra College, Humboldt State College and Yale University. His interest in genealogy started accidentally while clearing out some old papers from his mother’s closet. For the next ten years, he devoted much of his spare time in researching the Lansing family line and as all amateur genealogists clearly understand, the family project is really never finished.
