About the Author

Born Teresa Ann Barber in West Point, Georgia. My parents Pal and Lillian Barber have been married for 60 sixty years. I am from a family of three brothers and one sister. My eldest brother Ferrell died in October 2007, survived by myself, two brothers Alphonso, younger sister Camilla and the baby of the clan Kenneth. Married at a young age I now have three sons and 8 beautiful grandchildren. My three sons were born from my first marriage, Dwight Noel Dillard, Danyell Julian Dillard and Rapheal Demetrius Dillard. I was married for the second time in 2004 to a wonderful, loving man, my husband Fred White, Jr. I began writing my poetry in 1995 after my final divorce from my first husband. One day sitting at my desk with very little to do, I was quietly meditating. A few minutes later I was writing these words down as they came to me. I have been inspired to write since then. I am a spiritual person and believe in the whole awesomeness of one God, one creator of this mass universe. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and reach for my pin and pad and write the words that flowing around in my head. Quickly falling back to sleep, I would awaken in the morning and most of the time I am surprised as what I had written. The words had come together perfectly and I usually only had to make minor adjustments. After the trial and tribulations of a nasty divorce, my life became quite and calm. The inner talent that had been dormant for over twenty years suddenly appeared. I love putting real life into words, seeing life and hearing it in written form puts the reality of life in the heart of the reader. I will continue to write as long as I am inspired to do so.
